I want this class to feel like an easy yes for anyone who wants to be part of it, so be in touch if cost is a hinderance.
Have you always wanted to dance? Or been wanting to return to dance after many years? Join us for a fun exploration of modern/contemporary dance. Class will draw from an eclectic blend of traditional modern and contemporary approaches to movement ranging from Limon to the Axis Syllabus, as well as from somatic practices. We will play with grounding/centering, fall and recovery, cultivation of efficient and safe movement pathways and finding the nuances that make movement feel satisfying. In doing so, we will tap into our power/strength, deepen our sense of embodiment and cultivate attention to both our inner and
outer experience of moving together through space. Structure will include floor work, standing center work, patterns/skill building
across the floor and phrase work, as well as some improvisation and partner work. Class will build on material from previous weeks so signing up for series is best, but drop-ins are welcome.
No experience necessary. Comfortable clothes and bare feet (socks are great for beginning of class).
